Not too long ago an Orange County Birding post brought up an identification problem occurring in Orange County and other Southern California locations. Saturday, December 31, 2016. Top 10 birds of 2016. 2016 was a big year for me. I forayed to the Neotropics for the first time, staged two cross-continental road trips, and entered graduate school. For now, here are my favorite ten birds of the year.
This Chipping Sparrow was perched at the cemetary from which you view the Swainsons Hawk. After that, we took a quick stop at Paul Douglas Forest Preserve, and found a Family of Pied-billed Grebes among other things. This Pied-billed Grebe Family was nice to see on our way home from seeing a Swainsons Hawk. The female of one of two pairs of Gadwall at Rollins Savanah.
